5/6. Film Lecture notes



  • Italian Vernacular cinema- 1960's
  • Very popular with the working class who often wen to the cinema every night. The cinema was a social space where people went to talk and drink as well as watch a film.
  • Fellini is an Auteur known for style and sophistication
  • Giallo= detective film
  • Spaghetti Westerns
  • Common imagery=killer wears a black hat, black gloves etc.
  • Films had long and exciting names to entice audiences.
