Saul Bass http://saulbass.tv/
Saul Bass is the most notable designer of film posters, He is probably most known for his work on Alfred Hitchcock's films. He has a very unique style consisting of solid silhouette shapes and inconsistent playful type.
Olly Moss http://ollymoss.com/
Born in the uk 1987 clients include: Sony, Lucas Film, Nike, Apple, urban outfitters...
Olly Moss is a contemporary designer that has taken the solid, bold aesthetics of Saul Bass and added a new dynamic and technical level. He still retains the solid silhouette style but adds another image into the poster that isn't instantly obvious.
Dean Walton http://www.deanwalton.co.uk/
I'm a graphic/web designer, based in the North West of England.
Over the years I've tried to keep myself up to date with all the latest technologies and techiques and as a result, I can provide almost any kind of visual design work. I've worked in all kinds of industries from local plumbers, through the likes of national double-glazing companies right through to global giants such as Nintendo and Disney.
Dean Walton has done a series of Movie posters that he has redesigned, again using a similar approach to Saul Bass (silhouettes) but giving the posters more of a hand made aesthetic.
Matt Owen http://brickhut.wordpress.com/
Matt Owen has taken parts of the films dialogue/ story and used them as the focal point of the poster. The key to a successful film poster seems to be keep it as simple and bold as possible.
Carlos Ramos
thecarlosramos.tumblr.com
Carlos Ramos has done his own version of a spaghetti western film here adding a lot more detail and complexity putting in lots of layers and about 4 colours. I don't think this works as well as the previous designers. The poster for room 237 is okay but doesn't need that many colours.
