A history of Type 5x designers

Typographers and designers that heavily use type in their work

The Bevlak   http://thebevlak.com/

My name is Sam Bevington. I graduated from The University Of The West Of England Bristol in 2009 with a First Class Honours in Illustration. Since then I have been working freelance on a wide range of projects for a broad range of clients.

I currently live in a big warehouse North London. I enjoy tea, cigarettes, illustration and marmite on toast in that order.

The Bevlak almost exclusively uses type in his work, mainly very contemporary typography that often has a hand drawn aesthetic to it.

Ray Fenwick   http://rayfenwick.ca/

RAY FENWICK is an artist, author and illustrator living and working in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

His work is a combination of writing and drawing that spans several media, often taking form as short, absurdist vignettes. Despite different means of creation, what is constant is his playful use of improvisation, intuition and humour as tools to explore and oppose the absurdities of contemporary life.

This designer does a lot of hand drawn typography which is quite popular now.

James T Edmondson   http://jamestedmondson.com/

Most of this work is self-initiated, or for friends.
I live in San Francisco, and attend California College of the Arts. I will be graduating in the spring of 2013.

James Edmondson is a contemporary typographer that has designed some typefaces that have been featured on Lost Type Co-op which has given him a lot of exposure. His typefaces are like a modern take on traditional script fonts
