After our creative partnerships crit, we found out something that we hadn't considered- that people like to keep perfume bottles when they're empty because they look nice, this is something that our current concept was lacking in. By looking at existing packaging we will be able to find a way to display our bottle is an aesthetically pleasing way so that the user will want to keep it on display.
The brief mentions the new Lady Gaga Perfume which indicates that they think their audience wants something new and slightly controversial.
Lady Gaga uses this Vial shaped bottle and colours the perfume black to make the user think they are dealing with something more than just a fragrance.
The advertising for the perfume is very standard, just showing a photograph of the bottle and golden typography explaining what it is.
This perfume has an interesting container that is designed for the user to interact with it more
Ornamental and decorative bottles make the product look expensive and potion-like. Unfortunately we do not have the skills or knowledge to design our own bottle so we need to exploit the packaging to its full potential
Using brown fluid and brown bottles instantly makes it look like a perfume for gents:
Personally, I would keep these bottles because they are a bit out of the ordinary and look medical and chemical, I think that if our audience has similarities to that of Lady Gaga then having chemical looking bottles on display would appeal to them
Simple things like this would prompt a buyer to keep the bottle after use:
These look interesting but not decorative enough to want to keep on display because they look purely medical and not elegant or aesthetically pleasing at all
A nice and well crafted box adds a lot of trustworthy-ness to the product:
I think we will be able to use photography to really create the identity of the range of perfume and give the impression that it is much more than just a fragrance
In some cases keeping the bottle simple makes it look elegant and collectible:
This over the top protective packaging makes the perfume look limited and special and would make you want to keep hold of the whole package:
